In republics, on the other hand, citizens are paradoxically forced to be incapacitated precisely through the election. Whether you vote or not, only representatives can decide - even if the better argument will be ignored and millions of people will die preventably because of the laws implemented with absolute coercion. Try to introduce an idea to solve a problem effectively. You will see yourself fail.
Try to come up with an idea, no matter how clever, to solve a problem. Even experts and individual MPs fail due to arrogance, faction pressure, lack of responsibility, the monetary interests of coalition partners, the fact that they are not elected, and the fact that these laws are being defaced by the following government.
Due to these and other causes, the major problems have not been solved for more than 50 years - and new ones (housing shortage) have arisen.
